The Enhydra.org initiative

Who we are

Enhydra.org is an Open Source infrastructure dedicated to supporting the efforts of the Enhydra.org community. The Enhydra.org community consists of numerous entities including community sponsors, technology providers, users, and of course developers.

Enhydra.org today includes a large range of projects. The mission of all of these projects is to provide a blanket of Open Source middleware technologies for business solutions. Since its inception, Enhydra.org has become accepted as a highly scalable, easy to use and robust plattform.

The Enhydra.org Web Site is sponsored by the Objectweb Consortium. Together Teamlösungen and many other committers are the core technology providers for Enhydra.org. We aim to broaden the knowledge of and participation in Enhydra.org and welcome all interested parties. Together Teamlösungen and other Commercial Vendors develop commercial products and services that simplify the deployment of Enhydra.org based applications.

"Users" are the people who use the outcomes of the Enhydra.org projects. While those in this role aren't contributing code, they are using the projects, reporting bugs, making feature requests, helping make the current Enhydra.org releases even better and helping us prioritize what needs to go into future releases.

Finally, of course we can never forget the many other developers (commonly called "contributors" in Open Source terminology) throughout the world that contribute to the ongoing success of Enhydra.org. Developers are the people who write code, documentation, patches or contribute positively to the project in other ways. A developer's contribution is always recognized in the source code base. The contributors are ultimately the people that have made Enhydra.org what it is today, and will continue to drive it forward in the future, proving once again that Open Source development models can truly produce world-class, closed-source beating products !

Whether you are a MIS professional, developer, user, provide Enhydra.org services or add-on products, or are interested in contributing to the development effort of Enhydra.org, we hope that you find what you need on this site. We welcome any suggestions for improvements. If you have some, please email to enhydra@enhydra.org.

Our mission

Our mission is to promote the acceptance, usage, and continued development of Enhydra.org projects, a powerful group of Open Source Java technologies.

We believe that through the efforts of the many developers worldwide that have free access to Enhydra.org source code, the Enhydra.org projects are superior to any closed source software in both features and reliability. We also believe that corporate customers will benefit from Open Source Enhydra.org projects because it allows for much quicker bug resolution, rapid feature enhancements, simple partial deploy, and no barriers to upgrading to most recent versions. Finally, due to the mass and worldwide aspect of the community, 24/7 help is easy to get.

Through the efforts of the Enhydra.org community, it is our intent to continue to evolve Enhydra.org projects so that they offer better performance, better scalability and better features compared to closed source products also in the future.

Product usage

Just because you aren’t contributing code or fixes to Enhydra.org projects, doesn’t mean that you aren’t a valuable resource. A great way to help move Enhydra.org forward is by giving feedback on your experiences using Enhydra.org projects. This takes the form of reporting bugs, making feature requests, giving general product feedback, and contributing your usage stories so others know how Enhydra.org projects are being implemented to build solutions.
