Java Application Server Enhydra

Java Open Source Application Server

The goal...

Download ONE Enhydra Application Server distribution file and get everything you need to start development of your Java Web applications and/or webservices. A professional Eclipse IDE with plugins, a standard Tomcat Java Servlet Server, the Enhydra XMLC presentation framework, Barracuda MVC framework, Enhydra DODS for relational/object mapping, Enhydra Director web server plugin for loadbalancing/clustering, Enhydra Octopus for JDBC based relational transformations of data, Enhydra Shark and JaWE for workflow technology based solutions, Enhydra Snapper to integrate fulltext indexing/search, lots of source code examples and much more...

Everything packaged into one carefully assembled solution !

How it all started...

Enhydra.org started with Enhydra Server, the first and leading Open Source Java/XML application server. It was initially created by Lutris Technologies, Inc. which already disappeared from the market. After 4 years in development it was open sourced on January 15th 1999. They called the technology "Enhydra" after the California sea otter (Enhydra Lutris) - a popular inhabitant of Santa Cruz.

Big parts of Enhydra development are now sponsored by Together Teamlösungen located in Europe (Vienna, Belgrade and Bratislava) but it also has a very active community.

Enhydra's design and evolution is driven out of real world project experience and thus facilitates the rapid development and deployment of Java, XML and Webservice based applications. A flexible development environment supports complete separation of interface design, business logic, and data objects, geared towards building maintainable applications and supporting flexible deployment scenarios.

Thanks to the fantastic Enhydra community and Enhydra.org partners, Enhydra continues to advance at an amazing pace.

Have fun !
